Exploring Color Through Different Epochs
Color is a crucial means through which humans perceive the world, as well as an important tool for artists to express emotions and thoughts. The utilization and preferences for colors vary across different cultures and aesthetics of various epochs. Studying paintings or photographs from different periods may reveal significant differences in the colors employed.
Color Leap is an engaging platform for color inspiration, curating the hues of artworks from various historical epochs. Ranging from 2000 BCE to 1960 CE, this online service divides art into 12 distinct eras. Within each era, three representative artworks are featured, from which the five most prevalent colors are extracted. Users can click on different years to explore the color palettes of that period and easily copy the color codes with a simple click for further application.

Exploring Artworks and Colors Across Different Epochs
Upon opening Color Leap, users are greeted with the main interface as depicted below. From here, they can easily select the desired year to explore background introductions and artwork colors. Alternatively, users can click on “Choose Era” to directly navigate to different epochs for viewing.
Seamless Color Code Copying for Creative Inspiration
Selecting any year on the left side will display the representative artworks from that period. You can scroll up and down on the left-side timeline to reveal content from different eras. For each epoch, there are three featured artworks on the right side, along with five color combinations extracted from each artwork. Color Leap offers a one-click color code copying function; simply click on a color in the palette to copy its code, although only one color code can be copied at a time with each click. Users can utilize Color Leap to gain color inspiration for design, creation, or research purposes.
